The decorative patterns on several khachkars (cross-stones) in the churchyard suggest that it was built during the Zakarid period in the 13th century.<br>The new church was built in 1831 by centurion Piruman Yuzbash Tayirov, about 10\u201315 kilometers away from the original site.
